🌟Review (4/5) 🌟
As predictable as the core storyline is from the title, this short story is still a success in my book as it provides great motivation to readers by making us invested in the romance aspect of it. I found myself rooting for Nat and Conrad to live.
As with any shark-centric works of literature, the majority of the suspense comes from the chase between the predator and the prey. In that area, I was satisfied. Unfortunately, we don’t get to know what the monster in the water is. I think there could’ve been a bigger layer of sinister if the Coast Guard was in on this horror. But, the great twist at the end made up for the lack of depth in the identity and origin of the monster.
This short story is part of a collection called A-Z of Horror by Iain Rob Wright. You can check out the book on Amazon. It’s free to read through Kindle Unlimited!
