One of the biggest reasons I read is the constant realization that words hold so much power. For me, this is especially true in the horror genre. I would be safe in my bed and yet a good horror book can make me feel so uneasy that I would run from my bed to the bathroom because I would be afraid that a hand would grab my feet as soon as I stand too long near the edge of my bed. I could be reading in broad, sunny daylight yet feel as if I’m in a dark asylum where the wind blows so cold. It’s for those intense emotions that I’ve read as long as I have.
So to celebrate one of my favorite book genres, I wanted to do something special this Halloween season.
I recently came across a short story called ‘A for Antichrist’ as I was browsing through the Kindle Unlimited store. Once I knew I liked it and the writing style, I immediately went to the author’s page and saw that it was part of this A-Z short horror story collection that he released. I was thrilled! What better way to celebrate this spooky season than to make sure I read at least one horror-related literature a day? So for this Halloween season, I will be posting one (1) review per day. Each review will be focused on a chilling short story from this amazing featured anthology!
