🌟 Review (5/5)

This is the second book by Freida McFadden I picked up and I have given another 5-star rating!

Mental facility? Check. Mystery? Check. Murder? Check. Plow twist? Check.

The story builds up at great pacing. We start with Amy. She’s awfully nervous starting her shift and we have no idea why. My curiosity is piqued. As her shift starts, she gets to know the staff and the patients, and immediately I start suspecting everyone! The thrill just rises as I anticipate what’s going to happen. Things start to unravel as Amy’s layers start to peel with flashbacks while weird things start to happen in Ward D. This is where the eerie atmosphere starts to build up.

Someone disappeared. There may or may not be a murder. Amy is seeing and hearing things, is she losing her mind? A psycho patient may or may not be locked. The mental ward patients tell her they’re all gonna die tonight. Everything that happens tonight might just unravel Amy and it’s a journey for me as much as it is for her. I loved every turn!

Lastly, that ending?! McFadden knows how to make you gasp just as you close the book.
